Still Scrapping Christmas

I bought so many Christmas papers this year, I have felt compelled to get caught up on all my Christmas layouts, which I must admit, I am way far behind on. All of this in between Design Team work (which I was late on this time!), class design, work and kids....I did say work, right, because that is what has really been gobbling up my time.

Here's a Christmas layout using Little Yellow bicycle and all that Martha Stweart glitter I got for Christmas. I cut the ornament templates out of notebook paper much like you would a valentine - fold the paper in half and cut just one edge so when you open it, the one side is the mirror image of the other. Then I traced them onto colored cardstock. I used some metallic gift wrap cord I bought at Michaels on sale for 75 cents to "hang" the ornaments on the page.
It's not the most clever layout, but it's cute and gets the last page from Christmas 2007 finished!

Happy New Year

If you follow the Scrapbooks-Plus blog, you'll see that I am committing (once again) to the Photo-A-Day Challenge. This challenge requires that you must take at least one photograph each day for the entire year. I read about it on-line last year, bought a digital template to pull the photos together weekly and then fell behind and stopped in August. I think my problem became having to pull the photos together weekly into a digital page. I just didn't have the time (or discipline) each week - especially in the summer. And I personally don't find digital scrapping that much fun. This year I'm going traditional with a monthly two-page layout. I may not have all the clever journaling - but hey - I actually might finish it!!

Here a few samples from my attempt last year. The templates were very easy to use and the result was a nice single page 8 1/2 x 11 photo page straight out of my printer.

This year I've bought the Heidi Swapp Month clear stamps (or I could just use my Cricut to cut the titles). This way I can enjoy patterned papers that represent the season and add journaling where I feel like it - but not for every day because, let's face it, taking a photo a day is challenge enough! So take the challenge and use your camera to document everyday in 2009. What a great resolution for a brand new year!

Christmas Scrapping

I had a little down time over the long holiday weekend (I'm actually glad George W. declared the day after Christmas a holiday this year!).

So here is one of my layouts from our dinner on Christmas night - nothing too fancy - just K&Company paper and embellishments that I bought at Scrapbooks-Plus and at a K&Company "outlet" store when I was out in Kansas City back in November.
The card stock background in Bazzill and I used the Martha Stewart snowflake border punch (another Christmas present) on the bottom blue edge. I think I like it!!

Merry Christmas

What a busy Christmas!! With 23 people for dinner on Christmas Night, I spent most of Christmas in the kitchen (but didn't change out of my PJs until 5:00pm!!)

Today, the day after Christmas, is "Do-whatever-you-want Day". That's what we declare it in the Mozer household anyway. So today I cleaned my scrapbook room to make room for all the new goodies I got for Christmas that I can't wait to use in my designs...Martha Stewart glitter in every color, Martha Stewart punches and stamps (and that cute little snowflake border punch), a new Sissix machine with a couple of new dies, new cartridges for my Cricut, and a host of patterned papers and embellishments. It's going to be a great new year!!

Here's a couple of photos from this holiday (haven't had time to scrap them yet!) - my husband and I after a long day of cooking just before the big meal and three of my four boys on Christmas Eve (the other one was working).

I truly hope you all had a Merry Christmas!

A Long Time

It has been two months since I posted - OUCH!! Sorry to all of you that look at my blog - I have just been overwhelmed at work - so overwhelmed that I was unable to teach a class in December at Scrapbooks-Plus. I promise to do better in the coming year.

I do have another class. It's a Christmas layout but won't be taught until January 27 (I usually teach the third Tuesday of the month, but with the inaugeration that Tuesday, I have postponed for a week.

"Joy" is created using the WASSAIL line from Basic Grey and lots of glitter from Martha Stewart. Come join me on Tuesday, January 27, 2009 6:00pm - 8:30pm at Scrapbooks-Plus. Cost of the class is $20. If you want a kit ( if you don't live in the area we can send you a kit as long as you pay for the postage) please let them know when you sign up. Call (703) 263-9503 to reserve your spot or order your kit.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!
