I just finished the design on next month's Basic Grey class. When the Bittersweet line came out, I immediately was reminded of the fabric colors and patterns of a Rabbit block-of-the-month quilt I bought several years ago. So I pulled out the quilt (which is still not finished) and was inspired by a few of the bunnies to do a paper piecing layout. Though not my favorite technique, and not in line with my typical "less symetrical" designs, I think the end result is really cute. I added some Martha Stewart glitter to brighten things up a bit and turned the photo mats on the right page into pockets for journaling or more photos (your choice) to give the page more interest. The class will be the last day of March - Tuesday the 31st from 6:00pm - 8:30pm at Scrapbooks Plus in Chantilly VA. Call the store at (703) 263-9503 to reserve a spot or to order a kit.
The layout below gives you an idea how cute this can be for little girls or for boys. This is my son at about 6 years old with his new chocolate bunny. Enjoy!

January - Baby Its Cold!
I am participating in Basic Grey's "All About Me" class series this year at Scrapbooks Plus taught by Misty. The first class was the last Saturday of January. I really liked the January design, so I scraplifted it to create my first "Photo-of-the-day" layout highlighting January's calendar and all my phots this month. I used some old Basic Grey Blitzen and Dasher papers I had lying around. What fun!

Thankful 2008
I saw a similar page featuring the entire alphabet in little boxes on a page somewhere (in a magazine I think) and decided to create something like it for my own book. 2008 was an awesome year for me and my family, and I wanted to express my gratitude some how. (Before the feeling slipped away and became overwhlemed by whatever 2009 might bring. )
The layout is quite simple actually - the journal boxes all measure 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 and the mats are 2 3/4 x 2 3/4 . Two photos are 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 and the third photo is 2 1/2 x 2. The paper is from Basic Grey's Mellow line.
